Jesus Munoz Alegria, born on June 15, 1946, in Donna, Texas, passed away on February 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and love that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. He was a man who embraced life with a smile, always ready with a joke and a twinkle in his eye. Jesus was known for his impeccable sense of style; he believed that one should always look their best, reflecting the vibrant spirit that shone so brightly within him.
He was a true lover of music, often found relishing in the timeless melodies of oldies, which accompanied him as the soundtrack of his life. Jesus had a heart that swelled with pride for his heritage, proudly identifying as a pachuco, embodying the culture and style that came with it. His humor and caring nature forged friendships that will endure long after his passing.
Jesus is survived by his loving wife, Audelia G. Alegria, who stood by his side for 58 years through life's many joys and challenges. His daughter, Sandra Ann Alegria, carries forward his spirit, reflecting his warmth in her own life. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings: brothers Jose Alegria and Julio Alegria, and sister Juanita Garcia, with whom he shared many cherished memories, 6 great grandchildren and 9 great granchildren who will deeply miss the warmth of his presence and the place he created that always felt like home.
Though his journey has come to an end, we remember the influential figures who shaped his life and are now together with him in spirit. His parents, Guadalupe Alegria and Simona Munoz, along with his son Jesus Alegria Jr., her brothers Frank M. Alegria, Guadalupe Alegria Jr., Cruz Alegria, Tomas Alegria, Victor Alegria, and sisters Natividad Arteaga and Catarina Olivo, welcomed him into the everlasting embrace of peace.
Jesus' legacy will continue through the laughter he shared, the style he exuded, and the love he spread to everyone around him. As we gather to honor his memory, we will remember him not only for the laughs and good times but for the indelible mark he left on our hearts.
A viewing will be held on February 17, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Grace, located at 2929 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco, TX.
