Jesus De La Pena, Jr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jesus De La Peña, Jr., who departed this life on January 25, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on March 10, 1945, in Weslaco, Texas, Jesus dedicated his life to hard work and family, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus De La Peña & Paula Diaz; his brothers, Baldemar De La Peña, Maura De La Peña and Gilberto De La Peña.

Jesus was a cherished father to his daughter, Gloria De La Peña; a loving grandfather to his granddaughter and his eight great-grandchildren. Friends and family remember him not only for his work ethic but for his warm heart and welcoming spirit.

Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects during a Public Viewing, which will take place on Wednesday, January 28, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service to begin at 7:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home Elsa - Chapel of The Angels.

As per his wishes, Jesus will be cremated at a later date. Though he will be greatly missed, the memories of his laughter, his stories, and his love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

As we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Jesus De La Pena Jr., we invite all who knew him to join in reflecting on the indelible impact he had on our lives. May he rest in eternal peace.
