Weslaco- Janet Garza-Lopez born on December 18, 1970, in Weslaco, Texas, departed this life on February 15, 2026, at Knapp Medical Center. She was a spirited and loving woman who embraced life with humor, passion, and the joyful melodies she delighted in singing. Janet's presence radiated warmth, and her infectious laughter brought comfort to all who knew her.
A devoted wife for 26 years, she shared her life with her husband, Manuel Lopez Ramirez, affectionately known as "Mi Chaparro." Together, they forged a loving partnership filled with adventure, tenderness, and unwavering support. Janet's love extended beyond her husband to her entire family, which was at the core of her being.
Her daughter, Faith HopeAn' Love Lopez-Zuniga(Jose), was Janet's entire world, and together they created lasting memories that will be cherished forever. Janet found great joy in her three grandchildren, Milani Skye, James Estevan, and Genesis Jalani, whom she lovingly referred to as "little Janet." They brought her immense happiness and served as a continued source of inspiration and love in her life.
Janet's bond with her brother, Efrain Garza Jr., was profound; she loved him with every fiber of her being. Her sister-in-law Stacey, affectionately called "la guera," and her twin sister Jesica (Juan Antonio) Garza-Silva, whom she often referred to as her "womb-mate," shared a unique connection that transcended typical sibling relationships-a love and understanding that few could grasp.
Janet's family also included her nephew, Jon Matthew Diaz-Garza, whom she cherished dearly, and two great nieces, Jordyn Marie and Cheyenne Mya Diaz, who brought her great joy and pride. Surrounded by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, each member of her family will carry her spirit forward, treasuring the legacy of love and laughter she imparted onto them.
Janet was predeceased by her father, Efrain Garza Sr., and her beloved niece, Milagro DelCielo Silva-Garza, who remain in the hearts of those she has left behind.
Services to honor Janet will take place on February 20, 2026, with a viewing at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at Templo Lugar Para Cristo in Donna at 1:00 PM. She will then be laid to rest in interment at Webber Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the beautiful life she led and the love she shared.
Though Janet may have left this earthly realm, her spirit remains alive in the laughter of her loved ones, the memories shared, and the love that binds them together. She touched lives in unforgettable ways, and her absence will be felt deeply. Yet, through the joyful echoes of her laughter and the love she cultivated, Janet Garza-Lopez will continue to inspire those who were privileged to know her.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
