Jacinta Cavazos

WESLACO- Jacinta Cavazos passed away on August 29, 2026, in McAllen, TX, one day after her 67th birthday. She will be remembered as a tough-willed, strong woman whose presence was unmistakable, a woman lovingly known as "Boss Lady." Her life reflected resilience, devotion, and a deep love for the people closest to her.

When she was younger, Jacinta worked many long hours in the fields, a testament to the strength and determination that would define her throughout her life. She carried that same spirit into all she did. She loved cooking and found joy in creating with her hands, especially through DIY arts and crafts. She also loved telling stories, sharing pieces of herself in ways that brought laughter, connection, and warmth to those around her.

Jacinta had a vibrant and memorable personality. She loved painting her hair different colors, a reflection of her bold spirit and willingness to express herself fully. She loved plants, especially her ivy plant, and found simple comfort in caring for growing things. She also liked The Andy Griffith Show, enjoying its familiar charm. Some of her happiest moments were spent fishing with her husband, time that reflected the closeness they shared.

Above all, Jacinta loved her husband deeply. He was her everything, and together they showed those around them what true love can look like. That devotion was one of the defining gifts of her life, and it will remain one of the most cherished memories held by her family.

She is survived by her husband, Rodolfo Romero; her mother, Jacinta Aguilar; her daughters, Peggy Romero, Monique Cavazos, Patricia Romero, Pamela Romero, Roseman Romero, Penny Romero, and Paulette Romero; her sons, Oscar Cavazos, Rudy Romero, Randy Romero, and Reynaldo Romero; and her sisters, Esperanza Romero and Herminia Romero. Each of them carries forward the love, strength, stories, and enduring spirit she gave so freely. Her memory will continue to live in the meals she prepared, the stories she told, the beauty she cultivated, and the love she poured into her family.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roman Romero and Alfredo Romero.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jacinta's life on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels in Elsa. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St Theresa in Elsa, TX. Interment will follow at Anahuac Cemetery in Edcouch, TX.

Jacinta Cavazos leaves behind a legacy of strength, color, love, and unwavering devotion. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
