Weslaco- Idalia Franco, a beacon of kindness and warmth, departed this life on February 21, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas, leaving behind a legacy woven with love and cherished memories. Born on February 6, 1948, in Mexico, Idalia's journey was one filled with laughter, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her family.

Throughout her life, Idalia was renowned for her welcoming personality and her joyous sense of humor. She had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel at ease, whether it was during everyday encounters or festive family gatherings. Idalia treasured moments spent with her loved ones, especially during the holidays-a time when her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aromas of home-cooked meals that brought everyone together.

Idalia is survived by her beloved daughters, Nelly Franco, Dora Alicia Franco, and Rosario Franco, who carry forth her spirit of unconditional love. She also leaves behind a legacy as a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a great-grandmother to four precious great-grandchildren, each of whom adored her deeply.

The loss of Idalia is felt not just in her immediate family but also among her dear sister, Minerva Lozano, and a wide circle of friends whose lives she touched with her kindness. Idalia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rene Franco, who was her partner in life and in love. She also reunites with her brothers, Roel Galvan, Ruben Galvan, and Rene Galvan, and her sister, Eglantina Rodriguez, who have passed on before her.

Family and friends are invited to honor Idalia's memory at a visitation service held on February 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of Faith in Weslaco, Texas.
