Ida R. Montalvo

Edcouch- Ida R. Montalvo, who loved to be called "Momma or Mom" by her kids, departed this earth surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at her residence in Edcouch, Texas.

Mrs. Ida R. Montalvo was born on April 13, 1932, to Mr. Pedro Rivera and Mrs. Juliana Farias Rivera in Edcouch, Texas.

Mrs. Montalvo is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Pedro Rivera and Mrs. Juliana Farias Rivera; her brothers, Inez (Becha) Rivera, George (Mari) Rivera; her sisters, Ruby Rivera (+Eliazar) Salinas, Mary Rivera Rivas, Julia Rivera (+Ray) Elwood, Noelia Rivera Yracheta.

She raised her children with love and devotion alongside her loving husband, Alejandro Montalvo Sr.

Surviving Mrs. Montalvo are her children, Pearl (Adan Alejandro Jr.) Montalvo Alvarez, Pamela (Rodolfo "Rudy") Montalvo Ramirez and Alejandro (Kim Renee) Montalvo Jr.

Also surviving Ida is her brother, Pedro (Gracie) Rivera Jr.; her sisters, Ana Rivera (Agustin) Sauceda, Guadalupe Rivera (Carlos) Rivera, Leonor Rivera (+Charlie) Ramsey, Janie Rivera (+Joe) Hopper; her grandchildren, Valerie Ann (Justin) Ahmed, Alex Richard (Taylor Durham) Montalvo, Matthew Cole (Baylee) Montalvo, Margarita Gabriela Montalvo, Rodolfo "RJ" Ramirez Jr., Pedro "Pete" Gabriel Ramirez, Ida Marie Ramirez, Ivy May Ramirez; her great-grandchildren, Zain Ahmed, Noah Ahmed, Callum Alexander Montalvo.

The visitation of Mrs. Ida R. Montalvo is scheduled for Friday, January 12, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels in Elsa. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa.
