Guadalupe Ortiz

June 22, 1935 — May 14, 2026

Guadalupe Ortiz, a beacon of kindness and sweetness despite the many hardships and a difficult childhood she faced, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 14, 2026. Born on June 22, 1935, in the humble town of La Paloma, Texas, Guadalupe's life was a testament to resilience, grace, and an unwavering spirit that touched all who knew her.

Throughout her 90 years, Guadalupe carried herself with a gentle strength, never allowing the shadows of her past to diminish the light she shared with her family and community. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend whose warmth embraced everyone around her.

She is survived by her sons Joe Ortiz Jr., Jesse Ortiz with his wife Mary, Rudy Ortiz with his wife Isela, Franky Ortiz, and her daughters Lupita Garza with her husband Manuel, Carla Martinez with her husband Fernando, and Mari Ortiz. Guadalupe also leaves behind her brothers Roberto Garcia and Juan Garcia, her sisters Carmen Rodriguez Valles, Nena Garcia, and Rachel Garcia, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory and the legacy of love she bestowed upon them.

Guadalupe's journey on this earth was also marked by the poignant memories of those family members who have gone before her-her beloved father Rodolfo Garcia; her devoted husband Jose Ortiz Carrillo; her dear daughter Suzie Green; her brothers Genaro Garcia and Joey Garcia; and her sisters Chaya Tovar and Lupe Poole. Their spirits join hers now in eternal peace.
