Guadalupe Moralez

February 12, 1938 — February 4, 2026

Donna- Guadalupe Moralez, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas, at the age of 87. She was born on February 12, 1938, in Rio Hondo, Texas, and spent her life dedicated to family, community, and the beauty of nature.

Guadalupe was known for her generous spirit, always putting others before herself. A true homebody at heart, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often tending to her cherished garden and nurturing an array of vibrant flowers that mirrored her warm personality. Friends and family alike will remember her as a very social and caring person who opened her home and heart to anyone who walked through her door, never hesitating to offer food and comfort with her delightful cooking.

Her love for her grandchildren was unconditional. She would gladly pick them up, just to spend precious time sharing stories and laughter. Traveling brought her immense joy, with spontaneous trips to Florida to connect with family being a highlight. She also cherished taking memorable trips with her daughters, creating a tapestry of memories that will be cherished by her loved ones forever.

Guadalupe was proud of many accomplishments, including her passionate dedication to volunteering at Robert E Lee Elementary School in Edinburg, Texas. Her commitment to education was recognized as she was often chosen for various committees, exemplifying her caring nature and leadership qualities.

She is survived by her loving son, Lorenzo Moralez (Sylvia); daughters, Dalia Moralez and Alicia Abu-Saleh (Sam); brothers, Raul Reyna, Jesus Reyna, Ruben Reyna, and Jose Reyna; sisters, San Juana Solis and Blanca Estella Leal; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Michelle Arevalo, Anthony James Moralez, Adalie Garza, and Maya Nicole Abu-Saleh, and great-grandchildren, James Ignacio Moralez and Emily Grace Arevalo. Each person in her family held a special place in her heart, and her love for them will continue to inspire them as they navigate life without her gentle presence.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Leonel Morales who cared for who with all his heart and made sure had everything she needed in life and after his passing, brothers Jose Reyna Jr., Rodolfo Reyna, and Reymundo Reyna, and sisters Isidra Aguirre and Maria Trejo, who have all now joined her in eternal peace.
