Guadalupe Morales Pruneda

November 27, 1952 — February 8, 2026

Weslaco-Guadalupe Morales Pruneda, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 73. Born in Monte Alto, Texas, on November 27, 1952, she brought joy and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Guadalupe was a happy person with a warm sense of humor, an honest and direct manner, and an unwavering loyalty to her family and friends.

Family meant the world to Guadalupe, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She is survived by her devoted husband, Severo Valdez Sosa, and her three sons: Marco Antonio Pruneda, Emilio (Sugey) Pruneda, and Severo Pruneda. Her daughters-in-law, Alicia M. (David) Beltran and Sylvia A. (Armando) Valdez, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Guadalupe's family was her pride and joy, and she delighted in nurturing the bonds that held them all together.

Guadalupe was also surrounded by a loving community of siblings who shared her life journey: her brothers Jorge Ramos, Noe Ramos, Jose Alfredo Morales, and Luis Morales, as well as her sisters Ludivina Briseno, Sara Ramos, Elvia Ramos, Elsa Ramos, Gloria Vanderlann, and Laura Martinez. Her grandfather, Noe Ramos, played a pivotal role in her life, serving as a father figure whose guidance she cherished deeply.

Her vibrant spirit was evident in her many hobbies and interests. Guadalupe found joy in listening to music and dancing, always making sure to have her coffee and Marlboro cigarettes close by. She had a passion for watching her favorite novelas, and loved engaging her mind with crossword puzzles and scrolling through Facebook. She took tremendous pride in keeping a clean and orderly home, insisting that if you weren't helping her, you were best off out of her way while she tidied up. Guadalupe also relished the simple pleasure of playing chalupa, seeing it as a wonderful way to bond with those she loved.

While her heart will forever be cherished by her family, she will also be missed by those who were fortunate enough to call her friend. She touched so many lives with her genuine warmth and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Grace.
