Weslaco

Gloria E. Miller, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, in Weslaco, Texas, at the age of 89. Born on June 24, 1937, in Christopher, Illinois, Gloria's life was a testament to faith, kindness, and steadfast love for her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Gloria's journey began as Gloria E. Champman, the cherished daughter of Reginold Champan and Gladys Wynn. Throughout her life, she carried with her the values and warmth instilled by her parents, both of whom preceded her in death, as did her brothers, Donald Young and Brad Young. Their memories remained dear to Gloria throughout her years.

Gloria's heart was forever anchored by her husband, Charles Dwayne Miller. Together, they shared a remarkably rich life dedicated not only to one another but also to their faith. As Pastors, they found their calling in spreading the word of God, touching the lives of countless people with devotion and grace. Gloria's love for the Lord was evident in every conversation, her words always lifting spirits and offering comfort.

She was blessed with a beautiful family, and her role as a mother was one of her greatest joys. She is survived by her devoted children: sons Larry Brandhorst (Connie) and Michael Brandhorst (DeEtte); daughters, Connie Doice (Paul) and Brenda Sullivan (Wayne). Gloria's love radiated through generations, embraced by her brother Jerry Young, and by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

Those closest to Gloria will remember her for her great sense of humor and her luminous, beautiful smile. Her kindness knew no bounds-she gave freely of herself, supporting loved ones and strangers alike with gentle wisdom and an open heart. As a God-fearing woman, her spiritual strength was a beacon to many, and her unwavering faith shaped her every action.

Gloria's legacy is not only etched in the lives of her family, but in all who were blessed by her generosity, laughter, and gentle guidance. The world is a little warmer and kinder for the time she spent in it.

Gloria E. Miller will be transferred to Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, IL where her services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Cutler Cemetery in Cutler, IL.

The family finds solace in the knowledge that Gloria's faith has carried her home, and that her memory will live on in stories told, smiles shared, and the love that continues to surround them.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
