A strong woman and courageous fighter, Gloria faced life's challenges with an unyielding spirit and a profound trust in God. Throughout her days, she was defined by her diligent work ethic and familial devotion. Always active and deeply family-oriented, she carried the well-being of her loved ones as a sacred responsibility, ever vigilant in her care and concern. Her home was a sanctuary where the warmth of shared meals never waned-she joyfully offered nourishment not only to sustain the body but to fill souls with comfort and community. Among her many loves, sunflowers held a special place, their bright faces a symbol of the hope and light she radiated.

During her final days, Gloria was surrounded by her beloved family, engaged in moments of praise and worship, her heart full and happy in the presence of those she cherished most. This serene passage bespeaks the depth of her faith and the peaceful legacy she leaves behind.

Gloria is lovingly remembered by her devoted son, Raul Angel Garcia, and his wife Rebecca; her daughters, Maria Del Carmen Castillo and husband Javier, Norma Yolanda De Leon, Gloria Antonia De Leon and husband Geronimo, Griselda De La Cruz and husband Alfredo, Alma Nelly Escareno and husband Matias, and Sandra Veronica Escareno. Her loving brothers, Jose Gutierrez and Ramon Renteria, and sisters Alejandra Gutierrez, Marisela Renteria, and Santa Renteria stand alongside her children in celebrating her life. Her lineage blossoms into the remarkable presence of 27 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, each a living testament to her enduring love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Enrique Escareno, and siblings Celedonio Gutierrez, Juan Manuel Gutierrez, Merced Gutierrez, Guadalupe Renteria, and Juana Renteria.

The community will gather to honor Gloria's memory with a viewing on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco-Chapel of the Heavens, located at 2929 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco, Texas. A prayer service will follow the same evening at 7:00 p.m. A Chapel service will commence on Thursday, June 4 at 1:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

La comunidad se reunirá para honrar la memoria de Gloria con un velorio el miércoles 3 de junio de 2026, de 3:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m., en la Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, ubicada en 2929 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco, Texas. Esa misma tarde, a las 7:00 p. m., se llevará a cabo un servicio de oración. Un servicio en la capilla comenzará el jueves 4 de junio a la 1:00 p. m., seguido del sepelio en el cementerio Val Verde Memorial Gardens.
