His military service not only shaped his worldview but also reinforced a life-long dedication to principles that he lived by till his final days.
Francisco's legacy is deeply etched in the hearts of those whom he loved dearly. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Oralia Tafolla, whose companionship brought him joy and solace beyond measure. Together, they built a family grounded in respect, compassion, and unwavering support. His sons-Francisco Martinez Tafolla Jr. (Celia), Gilberto Tafolla (Celina), Esteban Tafolla (Leann), Celestino Mejia III (Mayra), and Christopher Brian Jasper (Mariah)-and his daughters-Denise Rizner (Steven), Celina Zuniga (Rudy), Monica Wells (Dylan), Cassidy Mejia (Adan Gonzalez), and Christina Mejia-carry forward his spirit and cherished values.
Francisco's familial circle extended beautifully through his brothers Armando, Gerardo, Efrain, David, and Genaro Tafolla, and his sisters Gloria Gomez, Rose Martinez, Marta Jimenez, Elizabeth Moreno, Carmela Pena, and America Bautista, who all remain pillars of his enduring legacy. The remembrance and celebration of Francisco's life will commence with a Viewing on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, located at 2929 W. Expressway 83 in Weslaco, Texas. A Prayer Service will take place later that evening at 7:00 PM, providing a sacred space for reflection and heartfelt tributes.
On Monday, March 30, 2026, a Funeral Service will honor Francisco's remarkable life beginning at 1:00 PM, followed by interment at Highland Memorial Park at 2:00 PM, located at 6705 N FM 88, Weslaco, Texas. These ceremonies will offer family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by Francisco a cherished moment to bid farewell to a man of towering integrity and boundless kindness.
