Fidel Desiga

August 28, 1953 — January 21, 2026

Donna-Fidel Agustin Desiga, born on August 28, 1953, in the vibrant heart of Guanajuato, Mexico, embarked on his eternal journey on January 21, 2026, passing peacefully at his residence. His life, woven with laughter and warmth, is a beautiful tapestry of cherished memories that reverberate through the hearts of all who knew him.

A man of many talents, Fidel was the quintessential jokester, lighting up every gathering with his infectious humor. He possessed the remarkable ability to fix anything and everything; a true jack of all trades, his ingenuity knew no bounds. Beyond his vibrant personality, he had a passion for adventure, his unwavering loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles was a testament to his spirited nature.

Fidel was a green-thumbed extraordinaire, his garden a canvas of blooming colors, which mirrored his affectionate spirit for nurturing not just plants but also family ties. Family meant everything to him; he was joyously known to arrive bearing sweets - often candy or ice cream - ensuring that no visit was ever empty-handed and every moment shared was filled with delight.

Those fortunate enough to know him will forever treasure the countless hours captured on video, as he lovingly recorded family gatherings with an eye for preserving the moments that mattered. He was a devoted family man, whose laughter echoed in the hearts of his wife, Evangelina Desiga; his sons, Gus (Abby) Desiga, Adam (Dianne) Desiga; and his daughter, Crystal (Eli) Solis. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren, Jacob (Alaina) Desiga, Noah Solis, Jonah Desiga, Levi Desiga, Judah Desiga, Jace Desiga, and Adah Desiga, each carrying a piece of his vibrant spirit into the future.

Fidel is remembered not only for his zest for life but also for the unyielding love of his siblings: Jerry Desiga, Andres "Chilo" Desiga, Angel Desiga, and Eddie Desiga; as well as his sisters, Carolina Desiga Lozano, Patricia Monares, Marcela Tarazon, and Terry Moreno. They will cherish the bond of brotherhood and sisterhood, forever entwined in the shared remnants of laughter and love.

He now joins his dearly departed parents, Fidel Alejandro Desiga and Teresa Chavez, alongside his sister, Amparo Desiga, who await him in a realm of peace.

A viewing and prayer service to celebrate Fidel's remarkable life will take place at New Beginnings Christian Church in Mercedes, TX, on January 24, 2026.
