Estrella Tafolla

Donna- Estrella Tafolla, born on January 8, 1962, in Weslaco, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, in Donna, Texas. Her journey of 64 years was marked by enduring love, strength, and profound commitment to her family and community.

Raised in the warmth of Weslaco, Estrella was a beloved daughter of Guadalupe and Bertha Tafolla. From an early age, she embodied the values of compassion and resilience that would define her life. Through her steadfast devotion, Estrella became a pillar for her family always ready to offer comfort, wisdom, and support to those dearest to her heart.

Estrella's legacy thrives through her cherished family. She is survived by her loving sister Herlinda Vela; her devoted children, Ernesto Cantu and Maria Luisa Cantu; her brothers Samuel (Sylvia) Tafolla and Severo Tafolla; her sisters-in-law Eva Tafolla and Maricela Tafolla; her dear sisters Ester Tafolla, Herlinda (Martin) Vela Melinda Tafolla, and Melissa (Daniel) Morales; her 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her later years. Estrella's nurturing presence and guidance inspired her family and imparted lessons of kindness, perseverance, and unity that will continue to resonate through generations.

As a sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Estrella's love and care knew no bounds. She celebrated every family milestone and cherished the bonds that kept her family united. Her empathy reached beyond immediate kin, creating an environment where all were welcome and where her laughter and warmth left an indelible impression.

Estrella is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Guadalupe and Bertha Tafolla, as well as her brothers, Guadalupe "Teco" Tafolla Jr. and Daniel "Danny Boy" Tafolla. Although they are no longer present in body, their memories and love remain ever-constant in the hearts of those who survive her.

Friends and family are invited to honor Estrella's life and legacy at the following services: A Public Viewing will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, located at 2929 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco, TX 78599. A Prayer Service will take place during the viewing, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the same location. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, with Interment to follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
