Brownsville- Ernestina P. Rivera, 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

Ernestina Rivera was born on July 1, 1940 to Mr. Andres Paredes, Sr. and Ms. Rebecca Hernandez.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sons: Carlos Rivera, Jr., Antonio Rivera; her brothers: Andres Paredes, Jr., Pedro Paredes and her sister Irma Gomez.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband Carlos Rivera; her daughter Christina R. Hernandez (Cirilo Hernandez); her brothers: Guadalupe Paredes and Pablo Paredes; her sisters: Andrea Arguelles, Rosie Sanchez, Minerva Garcia, her 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.


Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Salinas Funeral Home, all services conclude at this date. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Cremation will follow at a later date.
