Elida S. Roque

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elida S. Roque, who left this world peacefully on April 30, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on January 24, 1945, in Brownsville, Texas, Elida's life was a testament to strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and community.

Elida's journey through life, though marked by challenges, was rich with experiences and relationships that shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. She will be forever remembered by her beloved family and friends, who will carry forward Elida's spirit and teachings.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sebastian Saldivar and Blasa Solis; her husband, Artemio G. Roque; one brother, Sebastian Saldivar, Jr.; two sisters, Ramona Rodriguez and Rosa Martinez.

Elida is survived by her children, Artemio Roque, Jr. (Maribel), Rolando Roque (Maria), Esequiel Roque (Hortencia), Norma Linda R. Galvan (Jhon), Esmeralda Roque and Mona Roque (Hector+); one brother, Guadalupe Saldivar.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Elida's life during the visitation that will be held at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Heavens in Brownsville on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, allowing loved ones to gather in remembrance and reflection.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Heavens on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM, where we will honor Elida's legacy and the profound impact she had on our lives.

Following the service, Elida will be laid to rest at Buena Vista Burial Park in Brownsville at 11:00 AM.

Elida S. Roque's gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to her family will be profoundly missed. As we come together to celebrate her life, may we find comfort in her memory and cherish the moments shared.
