Elena S. Hernandez

Weslaco, Texas - Elena S. Hernandez, 91, passed away to be with the Lord on June 30, 2025 at her residence.

Mrs. Hernandez was born on February 23, 1934, in La Grulla, TX to Mr. Encarnacion Solis & Mrs. Nicolasa Rios. Elena was a hardworking and determined woman who set her goal to finish beauty school and owned her beauty shop at one time. She was a faithful, loyal, dedicated and soft-spoken woman who had faith to move mountains. Elena was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and spiritual mentor to many. She was a woman of God who served her church as a ladies auxiliary leader for many years, taught Bible studies and was a soulwinner. In truth, only eternity will reveal the countless lives that were touched by her prayers and dedication to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rogelio Solis, Encarnacion Solis, Jr.; three sisters, Manuela Soto, Consuelo Martinez & Lydia Perez.

Elena S. Hernandez is survived by her husband, Juan E. Hernandez; two sons, Juan Hernandez, Jr. (Felicia), Daniel Hernandez (Abby); two daughters, Cynthia Miranda, Clarissa Caudle; four brothers, Jose Maria Solis, Francisco Solis, Juan Solis, David Solis; two sisters, Idalia Martinez & Rosa Garcia. Also surviving are six grandchildren & two great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Elena S. Hernandez is scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens with a 6:00 PM Prayer Service. A 10:00 AM Funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday, July 7, 2025 at Salinas Funeral Home Weslaco- Chapel of The Heavens. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
