Weslaco- Ediberto Cadena, born on September 4, 1949, in Bryan, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2026, in Edinburg, Texas. His life was one defined by integrity, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to those he held most dear.
Ediberto's journey began in the vibrant community of Bryan, where he was raised and developed the values that guided him throughout his life. He carried these values with him as he established his family and worked diligently to provide and care for them. Throughout the years, Ediberto gained the respect and admiration of all who knew him, standing as a pillar in every community he touched.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Herlinda Cadena, whose unwavering partnership was a source of enduring support and companionship. Ediberto's legacy also lives on through his children: Lyzette Cadena, Yvette Cadena; his siblings, Ricardo Cadena and Maria Escalon and his grandchildren, Andrea Lyvette Cadena, Jonathan Eric Ramirez Jr., Evette Dasani Cadena each of whom carries forward the lessons of strength and perseverance learned from their father.

To honor and celebrate Ediberto Cadena's life, a public viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco-Chapel of Faith, located at 2929 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco, TX 78599. A prayer service will take place during the viewing, beginning at 7:00 p.m. and concluding at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, at 10:00 a.m., at the same location, followed by interment at Mercedes Memorial Restlawn Cemetery.
The passing of Ediberto Cadena marks the close of a life marked by devotion to family and honorable character, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who were privileged to know him.
