Born on February 3, 1961, in Mission, Texas, Diana’s life was marked by generosity, unwavering devotion, and the profound bonds she nurtured with family and friends.

Diana’s journey began in the warmth of the Rio Grande Valley, where her roots anchored her with the values of compassion and resilience. Throughout her 65 years of life, she touched everyone around her with quiet strength and immense heart. Diana’s nurturing nature and gentle humor could transform the simplest moments into treasures; her love was fierce and enduring.

She is survived by her beloved sons, Benjamin Villanueva (Paulina Rubio) and Sergio Villanueva, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and integrity. Diana’s heart spilled over with pride for her grandchildren—Ryan Rubio, Christopher Rubio, and Kiara Rubio—and she delighted in seeing their lives blossom. Her great-grandson, Jordan Isaiah Rubio, brought special joy in her later years, a new generation enriched by her boundless affection.

Her two dear brothers, Pedro Balderas and Manuel Balderas, remain to cherish her memory, keep her stories alive, and pass on her lessons of love and strength.

A public viewing to honor Diana’s remarkable life will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of Faith, located at 2929 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco, TX 78599. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are welcome to join in remembering a woman whose kindness and strength remain a guiding light.

Mrs. Villanueva will be cremated at a later date.
