David Guzman Davila

Jun 12, 1950 — Aug 19, 2026

Edinburg, Texas

David Guzman passed away to be with the Lord on August 19, 2026, in McAllen, Texas. His was a journey that began beneath the warm sun of Edinburg, Texas, on June 12, 1950-a life-long resident of the Rio Grande Valley whose legacy and memory now fill the hearts of those who loved him most.

David's story is one of deep family bonds, enduring love, and quiet strength. He was the cherished son of Frank Davila and Eloisa Guzman, who have gone before him, leaving their mark upon the man David would become-a brother forged in family and kinship, shaped by the warmth and lessons of sisters Angie Ayala, Dora Gomez, and Margaret Garcia, and the brotherly camaraderie of Victor Davila. The memories of his late brothers Frank Davila, Jr. and Daniel Davila remain etched into the family's shared spirit, memories David held dear all his days.

David is survived by his wife, Norma Flores; two sons, David Davila, Jr, (Haydee Castillo), Servando Davila (Priscilla); three daughters, Claudia Marisol Davila; Laura Illiana Saenz (Jose Cruz), Ana Villegas (Gilbert); the mother of his children, Noelia Salazar; his stepchildren, Monica Flores and Ruben Flores; one brother, Victor Davila; three sisters, Angie Ayala, Dora Gomez, Margaret Garcia. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren.

Though life brought its share of sorrow in the losses suffered, David's heart remained gentle, full of the quiet wisdom that only comes from a life lived in devoted service to family. He bore his responsibilities with grace, laughed freely in moments of joy, and found contentment in the everyday acts of gathering, sharing, and loving.

His roots, planted so resolutely in the Valley, nurtured not only his own growth but that of his sprawling family tree. Grandchildren grew up beneath the shelter of his encouragement, touched by the stories he shared, and inspired by his example. Sisters, brothers, children, and generations beyond will remember the warmth of his embrace, the easy strength in his voice, and the certainty that in David they always had an unwavering ally and friend.

As his loved ones gather to celebrate his life, all are invited to a viewing on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco-Chapel of the Heavens, 2929 W. A 12:00 PM Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco on Monday, August 24, 2026, followed by interment at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

Through the sorrow of this farewell, David Guzman Davila's legacy persists-felt in every gathering of his family, every quiet moment of remembrance, every story retold around kitchen tables. Though the sun has set on his earthly journey, the glow of his life remains, casting its light on generations to come.
