Elsa- David Aja Gonzalez, 81, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at The Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas.
He was born on August 28, 1941, to Mr. Alfonso Gonzalez and Mrs. Josefina Aja Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez was a dedicated and hardworking employee at Valero Southern Union Gas as well as a long-time employee for the city of Elsa, where he worked as a custodian for many years. Mr. Gonzalez was a very devoted God-fearing man with an immense amount of faith in the Lord, a proclaimed #1 fan of the Dallas Cowboys and wonderful family man who loved his family so very much. Mr. Gonzalez adored his grandchildren the most!
Mr. Gonzalez is preceded in death by his Loving Wife, Evangelina Guerrero Gonzalez; his parents; Mr. Alfonso Gonzalez and Mrs. Josefina Aja Gonzalez; his sons-in-law, Cresenciano Cruz & Bryan Swanson; his sister, Josefina Pena; his great-grandchildren, Michael Angel Martinez.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Alfonso Gonzalez II; his daughters, Diana Gonzalez, Yvonne Gonzalez, Jessica Cruz, Jayne Gonzalez; his sisters, Esmelda Bruce, Elizabeth Rios, Elma Cortines, Ester Cerda, Vangie Marmolejo, Ruth Farias; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. David Aja Gonzalez will be Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a second viewing taking place Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m with a prayer service taking place both days at 7:00 p.m. A chapel service will take place Friday, April 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of the Angels, followed by interment at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, Texas.
