Daniel P. Trevino

April 10, 1958 — May 23, 2026

Daniel P. Trevino, a beacon of kindness and warmth, passed away on May 23, 2026, in Weslaco, Texas. Born on April 10, 1958, in the close-knit community of Mercedes, Texas, Daniel’s life was a vibrant tapestry of love, laughter, and steadfast devotion to family.

Known for his welcoming spirit and an unfailing sense of humor, Daniel possessed the extraordinary gift of making everyone around him feel at ease, whether in moments of joy or through life's inevitable challenges. His presence was a comfort, a steady hand, and a source of light—a great husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather who enriched the lives of countless family members and friends.

Daniel’s story is rooted deeply in the Rio Grande Valley, where he was cherished by those privileged to know him. He was a loving husband to Rosa Maria Treviño, a partner in life whose shared journey spanned many years of triumphs and tenderness. As a father, Daniel’s heart beat strongly for his seven children: Daniel Treviño, Jr., married to Lilian; Johnny Lee Treviño; Alberto Treviño; Consuelo Treviño; Jessica Treviño Coy, alongside Rodrigo; Jennifer Ann Treviño. His legacy continues vibrantly through twenty-one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who carry forward his spirit and values.

The embrace of family extended beyond his immediate household. Daniel’s relationships with his siblings were bonds of loyalty and affection. He was the cherished brother of Maximiliano Treviño II, Ofelia Treviño, Guadalupe Treviño, and Estella Rios. Though some siblings—Maximiliano, Casimiro, Ricardo, Sergio, Monserrato, and Luisa—preceded him in passing, their memories live on in the stories and hearts of those gathered in loving remembrance.

His parents, Maximiliano Treviño and Blaza Piñones, shaped the foundation of his character and were a lasting source of inspiration, grounding him in values of compassion and resilience that he carried throughout his life’s journey.
