Corina Olivarez

Hargill- Corina Olivarez, of Edinburg, Texas, passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on January 23, 1940, in Hargill, Texas, a place that remained part of her story throughout her life.

Corina will be remembered as a caring and loving woman whose faith guided the way she lived. She was a God-fearing woman who always welcomed everyone into her home with a smile. That warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her, and her gentle spirit will be cherished by family and friends for years to come.

She now reunites with those who went before her, including her beloved husband, Pedro Olivarez; her father, Blas Castaneda Jr.; her mother, Manuela Lopez Castaneda; her brother, Guadalupe Castaneda; and her sister, Maria Dominguez.

Corina's memory will live on in the hearts of her loving children, Juan Olivarez, David Olivarez, Maria Olivarez, and Delia Cardona, as well as her brother, Blas Castaneda Jr. May they find comfort in the love she gave so freely, the example of faith she set, and the many memories shared with her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Angels, 304 E. Edinburg Ave, Elsa, Texas 78543. A prayer service will take place that evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the same location. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Angels, followed by interment from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Valle de la Paz Cemetery in Hargill, Texas.

Corina Olivarez will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the grace, faith, and welcome she extended to others every day of her life.
