Catalina Zavala

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Catalina M. Zavala, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Alamo, TX. Born on November 27, 1946, Catalina lived a life filled with devotion, warmth, and love, cherished by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Catalina's journey on this Earth was one rooted in the values of family and tradition. As a dedicated homemaker, she poured her heart into nurturing her family and creating a loving home for her family. Her legacy is one of strength, resilience, and unwavering love.

Catalina is survived by her loving husband, Jesus Zavala; four sons, Juan Antonio Zavala (Anna), Guadalupe Zavala (Griselda), Sergio Zavala (Guadalupe), Jose Angel Zavla (Daniella); six daughters, Maria Ponce (Luis), Rosalinda Zavala (Guadalupe), Nancy Zavala, Griselda Zavala (Juan), Maria Enedelia Zavala (Juan) & Diana Lopez (Miguel). Also surviving are 28 grandchildren & 32 great-grandchildren. The depth of her love and the warmth of her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home Weslaco - Chapel of The Heavens with a Holy Rosary to be held at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM, where all are invited to pay their final respects and celebrate her life. Following the service, interment will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where Catalina will be laid to rest, surrounded by the love and memories of her family.

As we reflect on the life of Catalina M. Zavala, we remember her as a beacon of love and light. Her spirit will live on in our hearts, and her memory will forever be cherished.

Es con profunda tristeza que anunciamos el fallecimiento de Catalina M. Zavala, una amada esposa, madre, abuela y amiga quien partió de esta vida el 26 de abril 2025 en Alamo, TX. Nacida el 27 de noviembre 1946, Catalina vivió una vida llena de devoción, calidez y amor, apreciada por todos los que tuvieron el honor de conocerla.

El viaje de Catalina en esta Tierra estuvo arraigado en los valores de la familia y la tradición. Como ama de casa dedicada, dedicó su corazón a nutrir a su familia y a crear un hogar amoroso para su familia. Su legado es de fuerza, resiliencia y amor inquebrantable.

A Catalina le sobrevive su amado esposo, Jesús Zavala; cuatro hijos, Juan Antonio Zavala (Anna), Guadalupe Zavala (Griselda), Sergio Zavala (Guadalupe), José Ángel Zavla (Daniella); seis hijas, María Ponce (Luis), Rosalinda Zavala (Guadalupe), Nancy Zavala, Griselda Zavala (Juan), María Enedelia Zavala (Juan) y Diana López (Miguel). También sobreviven 28 nietos y 32 bisnietos.

La profundidad de su amor y la calidez de su espíritu continuarán inspirando y elevando a aquellos que la conocieron.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el martes 29 de abril 2025 de 2:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. en la Funeraria Salinas Weslaco - Capilla de los Cielos con un Santo Rosario que se llevará a cabo a las 7:00 p.m. El miercoles, 30 de abril de 2025, a las 2:00 PM, se celebrará una Misa en la Iglesia Católica de San José en Donna, TX, donde todos están invitados a presentar sus últimos respetos y celebrar su vida. Después del servicio, el entierro se llevará a cabo en el cementerio Val Verde Memorial Gardens, donde Catalina será enterrada, rodeada del amor y los recuerdos de su familia.
