Carlota Contreras

With deep sorrow and loving hearts, the family of Carlota Contreras announces her passing on September 18, 2026, in McAllen, Texas. At the age of 94, Carlota peacefully left this earthly life to be with the Lord, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, and cherished memories.

Carlota was born on February 10, 1932, in Donna, Texas. Throughout her long and blessed life, she was surrounded by generations of family who loved her dearly. Her presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her, and the memories created throughout her 94 years will forever remain treasured in the hearts of her family.

Carlota was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Angelita C. Ramirez; her brother, Joaquin Ramirez; and her sisters, Rosenda Galvez and Lucinda Davila.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Ricardo Alvarez, and daughter, Marta Alvarez; her six grandchildren, Mario A. Mora (Amanda), Desiree Alvarez (Mauricio), Mark A. Mora (Jenay), April R. Gonzalez (Joe P.), Angela R. Rodriguez (Jesse), and Elijah K. Alvarez. She is also lovingly remembered by her 14 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the love, memories, and legacy she leaves behind.

Although Carlota's earthly journey has come to an end, the love she shared with her family will continue through the generations. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has entered into eternal rest and is now in the loving presence of the Lord. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held close in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Carlota Contreras will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of Faith, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
