Brownsville - Carlos G. Rivera, 83, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Valley Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Rivera was born August 28, 1938, in Brownsville, Texas, son of Celestino Rivera and Gregoria Gonzales Rivera. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ernestina Paredes Rivera; his sons, Carlos Rivera Jr. and Antonio Rivera; a granddaughter Justine Marie Rivera and his parents.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Christina R. Hernandez (Cirilo); his sister, Alicia Vilano; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 3 pm to 8 pm with a rosary at 6 pm at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Angels in Brownsville. Funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 11 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Brownsville. As per his wishes, he will be cremated at a later date.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home in Brownsville.
