Mercedes, Texas - Blas Alvarez Jr, 86, passed away to be with the Lord on July 2, 2025 at Briarcliff Nursing And Rehab in McAllen,Texas.

Mr. Alvarez was born on May 24, 1939 in Robert Franklin Farm Near Kyle, Texas. to Mr. Blas Alvarez & Mrs. Juana Alvarez.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Mr. Blas Alvarez & Mrs. Juana Alvarez; his son, Eloy Alvarez; his brothers, Mario Alvarez, Rodolfo Alvarez, Roberto Alvarez and his sisters, Aurora Reyna, Oralia Gutierrez.

Left to cherish Mr. Blas Alvarez Jr memories are his loving wife, Maria Esmeralda Alvarez; his sons, Jaime (Lorelei) Alvarez, Homero Alvarez; his daughters, Maria G (Mike) Vo, Nelda Alvarez, Imelda Alvarez; his daughter-in-law, Maria J. Barrios Favela; his brothers, Hector Alvarez, Tibaldo Alvarez and his sisters, Elisa Cisneros, Armandina Vasquez, Mariselda Zamorano and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation for Blas Alvarez Jr is scheduled for Monday, July 7, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heaveans in Weslaco. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 10:00 am at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
