Angelica Campos, affectionately known as Angie, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Weslaco, Texas, on August 1, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on November 16, 1967, Angie grew up in a family that nurtured her kind heart and infectious spirit. She dedicated her professional life as a Funeral Director at Salinas Funeral Homes, where she built an enduring legacy of compassion and care for grieving families.
Angie was more than just a colleague; she was a beloved member of the Salinas Funeral Home family. Her kind and welcoming personality made everyone feel at ease, and her great sense of humor brought light even in the darkest moments. She shared her warmth and smiles with those around her, earning the loving respect of families she served throughout her years in the funeral industry. Angie's proudest accomplishment came when she became a licensed funeral director, passing her state board exam on her first attempt-a true testament to her dedication and commitment to her chosen vocation.
Her heart overflowed with love for her family, particularly her nieces and nephews. Memories of her joy in taking them to stores to buy toys and the cherished moments spent playing with her hair will forever be etched in their hearts. Each niece and nephew added a special joy to her life-her spirit will live on through their laughter and fond recollections.
Angie was a true music lover who found peace in listening to her favorite tunes on long drives, a passion that reflected her zest for life and adventure. She embraced every moment with enthusiasm and grace, making memories that will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She leaves behind her loving mother, Delicia Campos; brothers Jaime "Jimmy" Campos and Raul "Rocky" Campos; sister Alma Caballero and her husband Oscar; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews: Michael, Gabriel, Joseph, Nicholas, Illiana, Veronica, Marlene, Cecily, Rebecca, Catherine, Analisa, Sydney, and Priscilla. Angie was preceded in death by her father, Gilberto Campos, and her brother, Gilberto Campos Jr., along with her nephew, Omar Campos.
A gathering to honor Angie's life will be held at the Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, where all are invited to share in her memory. Viewing will take place on August 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated on August 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco followed by her interment at Highland Memorial Park at 11:00 AM.
As we reflect on the incredible person that Angie was, we do so with gratitude for the light she brought into our lives. Her legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to inspire us, reminding us to cherish our loved ones and make every moment count. Angelica Campos will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
