With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alexis Ines Villegas, who entered into eternal rest on August 4, 2026, in Greensboro, North Carolina, at the age of 29.
Alexis was born on December 5, 1996, in Edinburg, Texas, to her loving parents, Alfonso Villegas, Jr. and Maria Cristina Villegas. From the very beginning, she brought immeasurable joy to those around her, and throughout her life she remained a bright light whose love, laughter, and genuine spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted parents, Alfonso Villegas, Jr. and Maria Cristina Villegas; her two brothers, Alfonso Villegas, III (Nydia Lopez) and Agustin Villegas (Janea Espinoza); her lifetime partner, Daisy Cameron; her paternal grandparents, Alfonso Sr. and Irma Villegas; her maternal grandparents, Pablo and Noemi Flores; her cherished niece, Ariel Villegas; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.
Alexis was truly the heart and soul of her family. She possessed an infectious smile that could brighten even the darkest days, a wonderful sense of humor that filled every room with laughter, and a compassionate heart that made everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her kindness, warmth, and ability to bring people together made her deeply loved by all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
Determined and hardworking, Alexis was passionately pursuing her dream of becoming a barber while balancing the demands of work. She approached every opportunity with dedication, resilience, and enthusiasm, always striving to build a bright future for herself. Her ambition, unwavering spirit, and genuine love for people were qualities that inspired those around her.
Though her life was far too brief, the impact Alexis made will never be forgotten. She leaves behind countless treasured memories, endless laughter, and a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. While words cannot ease the sorrow of her passing, those who knew and loved Alexis will forever find comfort in the joy she brought into their lives and the beautiful moments they shared with her.
Visitation for Alexis will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of The Heavens with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service.
A 10:00 AM Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Salinas Funeral Home Weslaco - Chapel of The Heavens. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens
